Justin was my older cousin, my favorite of them all lol. As a little girl I loved being with Justin and that was all that mattered to me. Eventually, I began to like the others, although it took a little time. We all went to Nannie Helen Burroughs together, and they all left me one by one. However, Justin was the last to leave me there. Back then I knew that because everyone loved Justin, they all had to like and everybody knew I was his cousin.
Quentin was there too, so I had him for a little while, after I got over Justin being the only one who exsisted in my world lol. Sometimes Uncle Carl would pick me, Justin and Quentin up from school and we would go to Auntie's job or go to the house, but either way we were going to play. We use to play together from the dirt box in Kentland, to the huge tents in the house on Dorchester Place, all the way to the current house.
I remember being like the little snitch, even as a child Justin never complained so I had to snitch. I remember we were playing outside and he fell causing his knee to bleed. He said he was ok, I said, "Nope, I'm going to tell your mother." Even as we got older he still tickled me as if I were 5 all over again and all you could hear was me yelling, "Auntie!!! Get Justin" or "Justin act your age", all while laughing.
Justin went to high school and I would sometimes go pick him up or ride with him to a game. But, that didn't last long because he always said, "I hate to beat these boys up", this continued through his college years too. To him I was always the little cousin, in his eyes who could never grow up. To me, he was the big cousin who I didn't want to share. Now that his earthly body is gone, the happy times will forver remain with us all.
Love Always,
Kissie
