Hi Justin,
It’s been 2 years and 4 months to date that you left us.
Words cannot describe the emptiness that has come with your leaving. It amazed us
then and continues to amaze us even now to find out how many lives you've touched.
From being the self-appointed Facebook police for your younger family members and
friends when you saw something you didn't like, to helping people, some with
cancer and some with just plain 'ol life struggles, find a way to keep on going. We had no idea that that many eyes
were on you as you fought during those 7 years; not just watching you fight, but
watching you continue to live as you continued to fight. Hearing testimonies from people who knew you and from those who didn't know you blows our mind.
We have been pretty busy continuing your mission to bring
awareness to sarcoma cancer; specifically osteosarcoma. The movement that you started
is now a foundation under the name of “Fighting Cancer with Poetry”. FCWP has been
doing big things and is growing like crazy. I believe you would be so pleased
to know that your mission did not end on Jan 2, 2012. FCWP helps us to keep
your memory and your mission alive.
Thank you for being the fighter that you were. Thank you for
not being selfish with your struggles, your gifts of poetry, and your life.
Thank you for believing that if you kept your struggles to yourself, it wouldn't
help anybody else. Thank you for the way you walked with God and how you opened
yourself up to Him; freeing Him to do with you as He pleased.
You made us proud. We will always love you!
Mommy, Daddy, and your big brother, Quentin
